This time next week I'll be at Smashing Conf London, with a new talk and also a full day workshop. I think London is pretty much sold out - there may be one or two workshop tickets remaining if you are quick. What is in Firefox 58? An explanation of some of the new features and performance improvements that are part of Project Quantum.
At the end of last year I wrote a post asking for feedback on this issue. With opinion split Edge and Firefox are to align with the current Chrome and Safari behaviour, as this will impact fewer existing sites and ensure interoperability. Lots of interesting things have come out of the discussion however, including thoughts on better ways to handle the aspect ratio issues and the “padding hack” enabled by the behaviour in Chrome and Safari.
